Black Mufflers

Postby Black Beast » Tue May 26, 2015 5:49 pm

Anyone know whether the black mufflers on the 40th Ann. FB6 are available for my 2014 Gold Wing as OEM parts? I am also looking at the Cobra 6 into 6 black slip-ons, but they still leave some chrome. Would welcome reports from anyone who has experience with these too, including whether I would need to do any mods to fit them.

I have a 2013 F6B and put the Cobra 6 into 6 on it. If you want black, you will have to have them powercoated. At this time they don't offer black. The chrome does not look bad, I had wanted black also but am okay with the chrome. The parts, like the mufflers, etc. fit 1880 Goldwings. Only difference on the bikes is the F6B has no CB, no cruise control (I think it is on the 2015 now), no heated seat. All other parts are the same as any 1800.

Thanks for your response. Your pipes look great. Cobra now have the same pipes in black, so one option is for me to fit those, and live with the remaining chrome beyond the slip-ons. But the 40th anniversary F6B has a black model with all black pipes, so I was wondering whether they might be available for a 2014 Wing. And just to confirm, you were able to fit the Cobras with no other mods, yes?

They slipped right on, no issues. Could of used a third hand as I was laying on the ground doing it LOL.

If they are OEM for the 40th F6B, then they will be available from Honda...but they won't be cheap. However, none of the online parts dealers yet have any 2015 parts catalogs online, so all the searches I did for the mufflers for the F6B (known in Honda-speak as a GL1800B, the Valkyrie is GL1800C) showed only the existing chrome ones.

Thanks for the heads-up. Explains why I couldn't find them. Very helpful.

Black Beast, the 2015 Wing has black mufflers, all the way. You might want to look at those.
Good Luck, Phil.
