Faring lights and mirror turn signals will not work

Postby pawleyrey@gmail.com » Wed Jun 10, 2015 9:59 am

Bought the Kuryakyn fairing lights and turn signal lights that attach to the mirrors, also the extra plug that is required for 2006 and up goldwings. Installed per directions. The fairing lights work fine but the signal lights stay on like running lights. When the signal is activated the mirror lights go off. Their not supposed to be on all the time, just when the signal is activated. I tried switching the plugs around but same results. Totally confused. Any help please.

The existing signal lights in the mirrors have two feeds: a running light feed, and a turn signal feed.

Turn signals
Turn signals

The right turn signal is on the light blue wire, the left turn signal is on the orange wire. The right running light is on the light blue/white wire, the left running light is on the orange/white wire. Green is ground.

When the right turn signal is turned on, the right running light is turned off, and vice versa for the left light.

It sounds like your additional turn signals are hooking into the incorrect wire - the running light, instead of the turn signal.
