changing the oil in my forks, I usually put 15 wt oil in but it seems to hit the bumps hard, should I use 10wt

From the factory, GL1800's come with 10 weight oil, so assuming you have original springs/dampers, it's no doubt you're going to get a harsh ride with 15 weight oil.

BTW, Richfield is great riding area! We go there often.

We go out to the Richfield Tavern for their Friday night jazz nights when there's someone good playing. :)

i'm about ten minutes from there, I used to be 2 minutes. right off broadview rd. I do have another question. in the right tube is the dampner rod. how do I get the cap to screw onto it. I don't remember. do you pull it up and start the cap on it ????. I did put 10 wt in it I think it will be a smoother ride. also I have a goodyear vector on the rear I used to run the runflats but the mileage sucked so this is a standard radial 60,000 tire I love it. I met another rider who was looking to go dark but I lost track of him. he met up with you a few times.
