Is it locked or stuck? Put in the key, turn to the left, try the latch handle. If it has an appreciable click showing the latch is being released, then the trunk is unlocked. If it will not open then, it is stuck and will need some persuasion.

On the other hand, if you mean with your remote, then either it needs to be recalibrated to your bike, or you need a new battery in it.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

If I remember right, that only works on the 1500, The 1800 trunk lock only turns to the right I THINK.

Turn key to the right. Pull on handle. does it have resistance and seems to unlatch? The rubber gasket on the lid may be stuck to the bottom half. Do the saddlebags open? If so the mechanism is unlocked and the lid is stuck. Try pulling up on the lid while you pull the handle.
