2009 gl1800 will not start after warm.

My father-in-law will go for a ride on his 1800. The next time he trys to start it after it is warm it will not start. All lights, accessories, and starter work, but it will not start. Kill switch is in run position. Starter sounds as strong as when the bike is completely cold. Battery is approximately 2 years old and tests fine. Once the bike is completely cold it will start on the first try. Honda dealer can find nothing wrong.

Check for clogged air filter. When cold an engine needs less air and more fuel. If warm and not enough air that could hinder restart

My Father just had his 2008 in for service same issue. It was the crank sensor. on the back of the motor a sensor that turns on the fuel injection and systems one the motor starts to rotate under cranking. Very intermittent issue but was lucky to have a good dealer in PA to find it.
