Zūmo 590LM and alert devices

Postby williamson_l » Sat Oct 31, 2015 2:34 pm

I finally broke down and bought the Zūmo 590LM GPS and have it installed on my 2010 NaviComfort. Now I would like to be able to utilize the bluetooth feature of the unit to send and receive calls via my iPhone.

Will it work with the standard plugs or do I need to buy all of the Cellset stuff in order to get the alerts on the headset if I am listening to the radio my iPod?

Just an update. I installed the Zūmo 590 and hardwired it to my clutch lever master cylinder switches. I used a Cellset module and connected the GPS to it. Then the module was connected to the intercom at the passenger's plug under the seat. The Zūmo also has a USB power port so that was routed to the passenger's right side hand grip.

Now I have synced my iPhone to the GPS. As long as the intercom is on, I can get everything. I can answer calls, get turn notifications, and all sources of music. (AM/FM/XM/Aux) I can also initiate phone calls via the GPS but don't feel comfortable doing that on the highway. But is nice that the option is there if I have to use it.

The GPS commands and phone features are only available when the intercom is utilized. If the external speakers are utilized you will not hear phone or GPS.

The USB power to the passenger.
