Key remote

Postby Smoothnf » Sat Aug 01, 2009 9:39 pm

Newbie here my first goldwing. I have a 02 Gl1800, when I press the call button on the remote it don't do nothing. The other buttons work. I read online that the horn and lights suppose to flash. The horn will blow if I press the horn button on the handle bar. What could the problem be, could the remote be bad.

Could be the remote is bad or that particular spot your pushing is. Might open it up and see if there is something obvious causing it not to work properly. While in there, check or replace the battery...possibly the cause too! :)

I have an 02 and my remote does not work at all. I purchased the bike used and the owner said all it need was a new battery. I replaced and tried to reprogram it and nothing. I went onto Ebay and purchased a brand new one and still nothing works. Rec'd instructions with the new one as well for programing. I took the cover off the mechanism and found it to be a little rusty. Cleaned it up as best you can and lubricated it with no results. Check the fuses as well.Any help would be appreciated.

It might have been accidentally washed and dried by previous owner unfortunately. Just a FYI if that happens to you, put it in a bag of uncooked rice for a day or two and it will dry it out possibly.

Press and hold the call button for at least 3 seconds.
