2010 GL1800 brakes locking ?

Postby Poosterwyk » Sat Jan 02, 2016 2:54 am

Yesterday while riding in Florida , my brakes locked up after riding about 10 miles .I let them cool off then they seemed to be OK but I am riding a little " gun shy" now in case of a re occurrence - has anyone had a similar experience ? I have around 25000 miles on the bike now and have never had a previous issue .

Call a dealer near you. There is another recall that replaces both the secondary and rear master cylinders, includes a brake system flush.

Just got back from the Honda dealer after having my 2010 Wing into them for the 4th time for brake issues. This time for replacement of the Master and Secondary Master and fluid replacement as per the Honda recall in Australia. I'm leaving on a 10,000km trip on 13th Feb. so hope all is finally fixed.

This link is the history of my brake problems on the Wing.

Looks like your problem has been around for some time !! - the recall here in the States and Canada is only to replace the secondary master cylinder and replace the fluid - not sure why the Master needs replacing also ?. - good luck this time - hope you have a safe trip in Feb

You should read the above Recall Notice that was Revised.... It replaces both the SMC and the REAR Brake Pedal Master and flushes all fluid..... UPDATED!!!!
