HID head lights

Postby Snowingagain » Sun Jan 24, 2016 2:11 pm

Ok, first timer....got a '15 goldwing 40th...installed HID's and that cut out harness for keeping the lights off until engine running. Did all the installation....HID's worked fine but were on w/o engine running...went to cut out harness....wrong relay sent with kit...was sent 5 pin relay installed now no lights at all...now what I got is the main buse 10amp fuse blows the second you turn on the ignition???....took the cut out harness out back to factory....still blows the main buse fuse???....taking the factory low beam relay out jumping the secondary circuit lights work fine....jumping the primary circuit on relay turning ignition on blows the fuse????....ordered service manual for bike....back ordered until who knows??? HELP!!??....Shouldn't the primary circuit get power from the ignition switch to the main buse fuse to the primary side of relay then to ground??...why all the sudden is this circuit drawing excessive amps to blow the fuse??? What if anything controls the amp draw on this circuit???

What i sent you is not on this forum. You take it and copy and paste the address into the address bar on your browser. Then click to send it. It will ask you if you want to open it as a PDF and what do you want to open it with such as Adobe reader. You tell it and then wait. It takes about 5 minutes to load the whole thing. When its loaded it will come up on your computer. Section 26 of the manual deals with electrical. It may be a 2010 but there should be a lot of similarities you could check against your 2015.
