I have s 2007 gl1800, is there any service books out there?

I looked at this site and found books up to 2005, is there that much differance? Should I spend a few bucks and get the 2005 service book for my 2007? thanks in advance, eddie57 :?:

The 2005 service manual will not cover your 2007. A lot of things changed in 2006. The service manual comes in two groups ... 2001-2005, and 2006-2010. Your service manual (i.e, 2006-2010) can be bought either here:

or here:

NOTE: Make sure you select the 2006-2010 version!

From an engine and drivetrain perspective, there is no major difference...from an electronics perspective (radio/gps/satellite radio/etc), there is an amplifier on the 2006+ which wouldn't be in the 2005 manual along with options for gps and sat radio in the newer models...there are some differences in some of the trim panel removal procedures (the shelter comes off differently, and the dash/gauge cluster removal is a bit different), but otherwise they are so similar that you could easily use the 2005 book to do diagnosis of simple mechanical things...Are you having issues currently?

I have the 2005 manual in pdf format, and I use it all the time on my 2008 bike....I wouldn't go running to buy a 2006-10 book until you decide what you plan to do with it.

If he has no book as he implies, then he should get the 2006-2010 book. There are enough changes to make a difference. The electronics and wiring alone are different enough. And depending on the level, there's nothing in the 2001-2005 book that discusses some of the features (as you pointed out) of the 2006-2010.

Duly noted, if he had nothing at all, but according to his post, he found books up to 2005 (I'm assuming in pdf format)...I'm assuming he means he can download the file one way or another for free.

IF that's the case, then the 2005 book would be fine for things like instructions of valve clearance checks.

Eddie, keyboard is right though, if you have no free cheap alternative, and you intend to work on the electronic parts of the bike, the newer book is a must (at least if you want to keep your sanity).
