2006 speedometer

Postby RiderLft » Sun Jun 19, 2016 8:47 pm

I have a new to me 2006 Goldwing brought it home and on the way I noticed the speedometer stopped at 35mph I reached up and tapped the dash and it jumped on up and worked fine until I slowed down and it hung up at 45mph. completely stopped it still shows 45. It gradually will go down to 0 then hangs up at 35 when speeding up. Any ideas?

First is the dealer footing the bill or are you ? If you any chance you can bend it back in shape ? I know in the old days when all meters were analog and had needles we would reshape them if needed. It is pretty easy to get to.

It's still on the dealer so I'm going to let them fix it. Thanks for the help though

Not sure what year had this problem, but there was a service bulletin about the speedo face delaminating or something like that and would bulge or bubble out to cause the needle to get stuck.

I don't know how it got bent. Like I said it is a new to me bike. The service department has been real nice about this since I bought it as is with no warranty they are still going to fix it because they didn't find it during their inspection.
