Newbe with some questions

Postby pete8541 » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:40 am

I'm new to the Goldwing (4000miles) I love it!
Havng trouble with the radio. I think that the rear speakers have blown. They worked great for the first week, now they put out very little sound. Is this common?

What is the feature that automaticly ajusts the volume? I had it set but after I disconnected the battery it is not working and I don't know how to properly set it.
The front speaker don't seem to be working the same since the battery change either. I am baffeled .
Thanks.

You will need to play with the volume knob on the radio. Push it to select menus and then turn it to increase or decrease volumes, adjust balance, adjust fader. You may just have reverted to original settings by disconnecting the battery.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Common problem with the rear speakers are broken wires by the trunk lid hinges.

Pete, look up Larry at WingConnect. Larry is the best, and GL1800 stereo upgrades is what he does! He will not charge you a lot, and if you send it to him to fix, he usually has it back to you in about a week.

I also recommend Larry M. at wingconnect.com
He fixed mine and also took care of the "microphonics" phenomenon where the radio chassis picks up vibrations and actually amplifies these vibrations in the headset speakers. He also upgraded the amp to a better version and turn-around was in a couple of days! Awesome! Flat rate for his repairs.
Visit his website for all info.

Looking at the wingconnect website, it looks like he does not do much with the 2012 and newer bikes.
