More lights...

Postby waituntilthebeep » Mon Sep 26, 2016 9:15 pm

I added some more lights to the ride. The stuff I added is way more complicated than I had originally planned so no DIY stuff for it. I had to cut apart the white/yellow strips and remote mount the controller for each strip. I built 2 separate LED arrays into the garnish panels and added side light strips to the fork covers. oh yeah, I drilled out the back of the reflectors and added an LED array in there as well. 14 hours of work later and I have a bike with an attitude! Lots more lights to come but... not this weekend:-)

I posted a video. The fender lights are wired to flash like the ones around the headlights.

Wow your ride looks fantastic man, but sounds a little to complex for me. Love the way you hooked up flashing part (parade lights ?). Maybe waaay later after you post do-it-yourself with PICTURES. Looks great, cruise safety.

Thank you! I didn't take any pictures of the process because it became pretty complicated pretty fast and honestly... I just go tso caught up in it that I forgot. It was not something for the timid - level of difficulty 4.

got caught up in it, no pictures, difficulty level 4, I totally understand. I done some things to my bike and started taking pictures and half way thru I forgot to keep taking pictures as you mentioned got caught up in the moment. Level 4 to high for this dummy so I'll just admire the work on your bike it really looks cool. Again, thanks for the first write up and pics, I'm happy with just those. (for now). Careful out there lots of idiots on the road. Cruise safety.

Ah... Ghostlights... Couldn't resist after seeing some posts on those. I wish I could find the post where a member recently added them to his 1500 but I couldn't locate it. I only had one location flat enough to install them so I drilled out the bottom of the mirror bucket and sandwiched it in there. Not much room, It does allow the light to project a 3 foot radius circle though. Because of the distance it has to project, the light isn't as bright in the other post but in the dark, it is impressive none-the-less. I cranked up the brightness a tad as my iPod camera doesn't like to take pics in the dark with reflected light.
