Air Filter change

Postby dougklima » Tue Aug 11, 2009 4:59 pm

Is it difficult to change the air filters on 2006 Wing? I bought a service manual from Helms and it reco's to let a dealer do it.
How much plastic do have to take off?
:?: :?:

Hi just joined had a GL1200 pretty easy to maintain, the new one 2009 GL1800 already
has a coolant leak so I started looking around for some maint tips.
Saw a post that said it could take as much as 4 hrs to change the air filter,
found some instructions on the net maybe UTUBE that sowed taking everything off
to get to it but it can be done just lay out the parts and screws and fastners so they
go back in the right place many connectors to unplug and replug but they are all
different so its not a problem. GOOGLE gl180 air filtes

This page has a how-to with pictures and a video link at the end...intimidating looking, but not difficult at all; just be thorough and pay attention to detail:
