Goldwing Radio

Postby eaglejohn » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:55 pm

I put a battery charger on my 2002 Goldwing with the polarity wrong. I no longer have a radio. The dealer says I have a short and need a new radio at $2,000.00. There must be a way to repair the radio. I cant believe you just throw away a radio because of a short. John

I'm not sure where to look on an 1800 but check for any fuses associated with the sound system. There is a company that will repair the radio and give you an estimate but they have a minimum price. Give them a call.

:( You probably burned up more than a few vital componets in the radio and it is probably unrepairable I would venture to say. That's why the Honda stealer wants to replace it. But I would give Sierra a holler anyway :? You'd never know . And if it can't be repaired keep watching E-Bay . Iv'e never seen one go for 2000.00 before on there :?:

I agree----you can likely find a replacement radio for less than 300 on ebay...pinwall cycle parts out wrecked bikes and sometimes gets wings...they part out everything on ebay, and they are usually very reasonable...look for them on ebay, or google them and give them a call (I think they are in Ohio) and see if they have something on hand.

There's a guy on the gl1800riders board who is selling a brand new OEM radio...may want to look into it...
