Front wheel no longer spins as freely.

Post by kerrsys » Thu Oct 19, 2017 4:02 pm

Had Front Tire Changed and now feels like front wheel no longer spins as freely. I noticed this when pushing the trike backwards out of my garage. I used to just squeeze the clutch lever and simply guide it out. Now, I need to really push it.

Any thoughts as to why this may be?

Start by verfying that it is the front wheel causing the problem.
Get it off the ground.Give it a healthy spin..I think it should make a couple of complete turns
at least. If it's stiff.suspect the brakes...or a improper install of the front wheel.Hard to guess from here.Somebody just has to look at it.

If you can make the wheel rotate through 3 rotations or so it is probably ok. The brakes are supposed to make a little contact. If they seem to be grabbing it might be necessary to loosen the pinch nuts and axle bolt and make sure the wheel is aligned and follow the instructions in the manual to tighten everything back up in the right order. It might e necessary to change the brake fluid and take the calipers apart and lube the slider pins. If you take the front wheel off you can take your fingers and spin the bearings and see if you feel any roughness as you turn them.
