Installing belly pan

Postby Wing10 » Fri Dec 03, 2010 4:17 pm

I just recieved my new stainless steel lovered belly pan.....directions say remove side cover slide in belly pan and reinstall nuts.....I took off the two bottom nuts and the lower side covers don't come off, where are the other bolts. Maybe a dumb question, but I don't want to break anything.......Thanks, ****

There are lugs at the front of the side covers underneath the lower fairing area (where you would put your spot lights). You have to remove this first before you can get the side covers off.

Did you try to flex the pan in the middle and slip it inside each side cover?

My aluminum pan can be removed/installed this way.

The louvered stainless material might be too rugged, but I would think that only one side would have to be removed at best.

Wear gloves!!!!!!

I had my belly pan installed last Sept.'09 with the help of a mechanically minded friend. Bought one of those "dented" s/s pans offered on Wingstuff. I feel it was a very good decision to buy and install that item. Every so often I'll clean off the tar and wax the s/s underside.

Thanks for the support everybody, you guys are the best.....I finally got the belly pan installed today, I've been under the weather so it took a little longer than expected....It's no big deal though, the temp. is about 15F so there is no hurry.......it s--ks to get old........
