K & N Air Filter

Postby myYellowbird » Fri Jan 14, 2011 10:00 pm

Was talking to another wing owner over the weekend he said he noticed an increase in power and better fuel mileage, when he changed is air filter from factory to a K N filter. Just wondering if its worth making the change, these filters are so hard to access and not changed that often. I would think you could save some money over couple of years or get some better performance.

I just changed my air filter and replaced it with a K & N last weekend. No doubt about it, it is a big job. If you are going to do it yourself to save a few bucks, suggest you review the comments at the link below and look at the steps required on the steve saunders website.

I just got one from E-BAY, $34.00 bucks good deal. They wanted $98.00 at Canadian Tire, what a rip off.

After going thru the same experience with other parts (Honda oil filters), I do all of my shopping which includes oil at the enclosed link. You still have to pay tax however not double the cost of the item. The price of the membership has more than paid for itself. The other advantage I have is living close to a US UPS store so I save on shipping taking advantage of the free shipping accross the lower 48 states.

So, has anyone seen an actual improvement on the power and MPG after swapping in the K&N filter?
