The only way to make that tire fit is to take it to a different shop. They just didn't want to mount a ct on a bike. That is a commonly used size for the newer 1800s and it will fit.

Not only will it fit but it will might not even need balancing. The Falken 912 that I used in that size didn't. Click on Forums over in the left column; scroll down and click on gl1800riders sub boards then click on the darkside forum and you will be able to read comments from about 1000 riders like me who went darkside.

i havent tryed a ct , but i use to own a 66 hd electragluide , and back then my hd tires had thread in them , now they have redesigned tires for bikes , now all we get is a bald tire with some rain groves in them , so the car tire seems good to me ,if our bikes were cars , they would have car tires on them , they make these bike tires for hard cornering around curves , high way tire should have thread

HI Dave. Your 195 will definitely fit. I'm running a 205 on mine. Do you have the ability to remove the rear tire and take the rim and new tire to a shop? Some will mount the tire, but they won't install it on the bike. They would probably be more willing if you told them it was going on your trike. Installing is pretty strightforward. Just make sure one of the studs is in the 6 o'clock position and it should go right up in there. I think the torque value on the studs is 80 lbs. There are many guys that change their 1800 rear tires simply by laying the bike on it's right side on the crash bars in the grass and then deploying the centerstand to raise the rear a touch. Try an independant shop and see what they say.

The 195/55/16 will fit But I found that a 195/60/16 work better it's closer in size.I mount them my self.If you use dyna beads to balance it you don't need a shop..But you havfta let the air back out to get it up in the bike them re inflat it.. Mine prefect would never go back to MC tire.. Sally If you need more help just let me know Google tire size calulator you can enter old tire size and new one it will compare things like speed, rpm, width, etc.... good site to find
