Speaker grill removal

Postby jireland » Tue Jun 21, 2011 12:04 am

Question #1
How does one remove the front speaker grill on a 2010 GL1800?
I was told to just pull it out at the edge...I gave it a little tug, but quit, as I didn't want to damage it(there is a little inspection sticker or something on the inside...)

Question #2
Can I get a free comprehensive how-to manual for this bike? I thought this site was the place, but I cannot find where...

Ijireland

For the manuel just click on manuel on the top left of this page. The 2006 and 2010 his same.

Go too see this adress for the grill speaker remove = http://www.goldwingfacts.com/1800meterpanel06on.htm

If the dashboard is the same, you should remove all the dash bord. good job.

Flyboy's link is right. Also be careful when unpluging those tweeters. Also you might want to leave the big connection next to the ignition off of the post it slides onto to give yourself more slack to work with next time.

Thanks for the info about the speaker grill removal...now I can remove that pesky piece of paper stuck inside the grill. I probably don't have to remove the entire dash to remove the paper. I just have to have enough room to reach in and get it out by just pulling on the ignition latch and that particular speaker end.

About the service manual...
I see that there are lots of manual-ettes for a variety of procedures, but I was hoping to find an online site to download free copies of either the entire service manual for the GW 2010, or just the parts that I am likely to use. I actually do not need the entire manual, as I don't plan on getting into the more technical end of things, but more of things like removing the dash, as above, and installing electrical gadgets would be great.
