GL1800 Intercomm leads/headset

Postby thrasherg » Thu Jul 28, 2011 9:52 am

Guys,

I would like to use the Honda intercom on my Goldwing (Have used an aftermarket intercom on the bike up until know as it had bike to bike capability to talk with my wife on her bike). I am convinced my aftermarket intercom is going south, so I want to use the Honda intercom.
I have 3 questions,
1) what is the best headset to use with the intercom? I see several aftermarket headsets..
2) the wing came with a lead to plug into the Honda intercom plugs on the bike, but was missing the actual headsets. Can anyone identify the lead (see picture) and tell me the make? Obviously if it's a good make it will be cheaper if I only have to buy the headsets and not the headsets and leads.. Just want to know if anyone can identify the lead.
3) What is a good aftermarket CB to fit to my wife's bike? Preferably with intercom so she can talk to my daughter that rides at the back of her?

Thanks Gary

The wife has a J&M handlebar mounted cb w/ m3 player. Works real well but has no intercom. Dola.

Dola, I looked at the Sierra electronics WEB site and they don't list a sierra head set they have IMC and J&M. Neither looks to have the correct plug to connect with my lead.. Am I missing something or is your headset either a IMC or J&M that you purchased from Sierra?

Regards Gary

That cable in the picture is the J&M "lower" cable for its new "Elite" line of headsets. I have it on my helmet.
