Mirrors: are the mirrors on the 1800 supposed to adjust?

Postby kordyf » Sun Jul 31, 2011 2:36 pm

My friend drove my bike yesterday. He is very tall, and tried to adjust the mirrors, but could not. Are they supposed to adjust?

Under the mirror there is a screw inside the hole and if you loosen it you can adjust the mirrors.
It's the same screw to remove the mirror to access the bulb.

You are not supposed to have to loosen the screw to adjust. But if you have to push really hard on the glass then you might have to loosen the screw.

The Phillips head bolt holds the mirror in place. It doesn't have any affect on the ability to adjust the position of the glass. If you remove the glass, you can see it is adjusted by pressing on the edge of the glass.

Bad thing here is some people over tighten the phillips head screw in the base after they change the bulb and the mirror will not move when they try to adjust it. It may just be overtightened.

You adjust your mirrors by pushing the the corner of you mirror in or out. Simple i had the same problem when i got mine on the 1st ride rode right back to the dealer who showed me how to adjust them. The screw on the bottom holds the mirror in place. Mine did losen a little i noticed a vibration in the mirror just retighten it and its fine now. :D
