Is there anything wrong with putting a Dunlop E3 tire on the rear, while having a 404 on the front?
What are the consequences?

There is nothing that says that you have to run similar tires front and back. My Goldwing is actually the first bike I have that is that way but that is the way I bought it. On my other bikes past and present I always had different tires.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

I dont think I ever had a matched set in my life. Until I bought this bike a month ago. Buy what you want and RIDE!
