Tire Change Issues?

Postby rabbott5 » Tue Nov 01, 2011 5:39 pm

I'll be changing tires on my 2008 this winter. I have always changed my own tires on my bikes before. I have a Harbor Freight tire changer with m/c adapter. I use a NoMar bar and lube as well as several spoons and blocks. I have watched a few videos on Goldwing tire changes and they all talk about how difficult changing tires is, due to the stiff sidewall. What can I expect?

Use lots of lube and warm the tire in the sun. I use a MoJo bar and the same HF stand. After your first time, it shouldn't be too dificult.

yes, your first change will be a challenge. Use wood blocks to keep the opposite tire bead positioned in the wheel drop center and use a good lube. If you start getting frustrated, walk away and come back later.
