Turn signal turning off early

Postby okstay » Wed Nov 09, 2011 10:17 pm

I have a 2012 wing and the turn signals turn off before I even get to the turn. Is there anything that can be done to make the signals stay on any longer. This is especially a problem on the highway when I am approaching a road I want to turn off onto. The signal turns off way too early. I thought the signals were tied into the bank angle sensor and the speedometer. Thanks for any help. Chris

They are also timed. You will just need to signal two or three times if you want a long approach warning for other drivers. It is the nature of the beast. I am not sure what the time criteria is, but it must also be tied into distance travelled, as it will blink all day long if you are sitting still. My 2010 is exactly the same.

I think it's something that you'll just have to get used to..I'm in the habit of hitting the turn signal switch several times when approaching the intersection or the turn. There have been discussions about this on other forums as well, and there isn't much that can be done about it.

I think the book for my 2010 said it turns off after 110 meters also.

My 1500 does the same and I hate it. Too many times I have caught it where I'm turning and the signal has already cancelled. Bad idea Honda.

I would really like to see HONDA recall the 1800's for the turn signals shutting off early. My Electraglide turn signals work well! HONDA should take a lesson from Harley with the turn signals. My Harley's don't turn off until the bike accelerates or the bank angle sensor knows the bike has completed the turn and is vertical again. Please take a lesson HONDA! Same thing for the cruise control. My Harleys cruise is seamless.

What's wrong with the cruise control? :?:

My cruise on my wing surges abruptly when I turn it on.

That is adjustable. You need to shorten the adjustment. The cruise adjustment is down to the right of the ignition switch (yeah, under some tupperware - in fact the whole top shelter has to come off) While adjusting, you can test the bike without putting the tupperware back on, so adjust in only half turn to one turn increments.
