Torque for passenger board hex bolts
Hello - I have a 2012 Goldwing, and am going to replace the stock passenger boards. Can anyone tell me what to torque the hex bolts to when I install the new boards. Even better, where can I find the torque specs for the whole bike? I also need the torque specs for the centre stand which I am going to replace. Thanks for any help.

Re: Torque for passenger board hex bolts
I don't believe that torque is very important with the passenger floorboards. Just put some blue locktight on them and snug them up. probably 20 ft pounds is enough. They do not do anything to affect the handling or running of the motorcycle, so as long as you do not snap the bolts off it's fine. As to torque specs for the entire bike? You could get a manual for 01-10 bikes and just hope the specs are the same, but if it were me - I would wait till a manual came out for the bike you have.

Thanks - you are right about getting the manual. Only problem is that they are not yet available! I think the torque numbers that I am looking for to put on new passenger boards and centre stand will almost certainly be the same as 2010 model, so if anyone can help me with those in the interim, it would be much appreciated!

Re: Torque for passenger board hex bolts
Now that I can help you with. The 2009/2010 floorboard mounting bolts are 20 Ft Pounds and the left and right centerstand pivot bolts are 40 Ft pounds. And if you need it in metric, it is 27 and 54 Nms respectively.Steve L wrote:Thanks - you are right about getting the manual. Only problem is that they are not yet available!
