RIGHT ANGLE VALVE STEMS

Postby GRAPEAPE94 » Sat Dec 17, 2011 2:05 pm

I am thinking of replacing my right angle valve stems on my '06 with straight ones. Is there anything special that I have to do?

I would imagine, just make sure that you can get an air hob and a pressure gauge in there with straight stems.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

Right. My 1100 has straight stems, and I bought one of these specifically for it:

Tire pressure gauge
Tire pressure gauge

It makes it easy to check the pressure. I would think that it would fit the 1800 with straight stems fairly well.

Just out of interest, what's making you want to change?

I have just over 85000 on my '06 and am on my third set of stems. Originals and two replacements. Plus, as I do a lot of traveling I just want to be extra safe. Also it would be easier to install DYNA BEADS if I want to do it myself instead of breaking down the tire.

I've used to have difficulties installing the Dyna Beads on my Honda Valkyrie with the angle stems until I purchased the accessory bottle and tube. Holding a vibrating tool up against the tube and letting a small amount fall down the stem I find does the trick.

As I have the TPS on my 2009 Wing I went with the Centramatics. Although expensive, it works as advertised producing the same results.
