78/79 GL1000 Owners Manual

Postby FisherJim » Sun Jan 13, 2013 11:43 am

I'm looking for a 78 GL1000 Owners Manual - downloadable if available. There are a few 79's for sale. I'm new to the Goldwing scene, is the 79 similar enough to use for my 78

I would say that the '78 and '79 are similar enough to use either "owner's manual". Only real difference are the carbs, different numbers, but still so similar that either set will work on either bike. If one were to spend money on a manual, why not just get a GL1000 shop manual that covers all year models? Same info as found in an "owner's" but so much more that can be useful, for the same price, usually. A Honda factory manual is my first choice, Haynes second, Clymer....too many mistakes and not enough info in their books.

Just noticed this morning that a fellow on NakedGoldWings(ngwclub.com) has manuals for sale, very reasonable. Go to the "barter section-for sale" area to find them.
