It's going up for sale late 2014

Postby fr1tz » Thu Feb 06, 2014 2:05 am

since I retired this past June I decided to sale all my bike stuff and travel around the country in a motorhome, having said that "up for sale" in late 2014, will be my 1982 GL1100 CSC Aspencade, pull behind trailer, 1983 GL1100 (parts bike) interstate, and two complete Clairion type II systems, lots of GL1100 stuff. the 83 has been converted to power a 10,000 watt generator "works great". pictures are posted on fritz's trike on this site, any questions e-mail fr1tz@hotmail.com

I hope you enjoy yourself, We bought a 41' diesel pusher with slide outs a few years back and love going away for a few weeks to visit new states. It's a great way to visit (Especially if you have animals, as you can bring them with you) but we also bring our wing along so we can ride once we get somewhere nice.. I hope it's all you expect and more, don't forget to post pictures on here as you travel.. :D

Thanks Gary, I just wish the trike was going along but the car conversation won because it has a roof. Thanks Fritz

We have a large flat bed trailer which I pull with the RV, we have the wing on the front (running across the front of the trailer) and then a Subaru car behind the gold wing. That way we have both options 2 or 4 wheels!! Best of both worlds.. I love driving my RV rig and visiting new places. It can be a handful at times to park everything, but it's the best way to travel..

Hey Gary if you have the time I'am looking for someone to coach me on RV's with trailer, how long is your trailer & do you have to put your wing side ways? going to measure the length of my chevy Cruse & trike, the way I see it an enclosed trailer would also give me more storage space. I'am also thinking that a shorter RV may be better, but what about power, a 350 or 400 hp should do it. thank you for your thoughts - Fred Rote

Just to add to the conversation, I have a 38foot RV, weighs 10 tonnes, and pulls a trailer with a Subaru Forester on board. The empty trailer weighs 1 tonne and the Forester about 1.5 tonnes (tonnes is a metric ton, with about 20 pounds difference). The engine for the RV is a 6 cylinder UD (Nissan) diesel coupled to a 6 speed gearbox, and providing about 210hp. At 100Km/h I am revving at about 2000RPM in 6th gear. There is a maximum of 3.5 tonnes allowed here on a towball, so I fit within that.

It does all that I want, as the speeds for heavy vehicles are regulated to about 100Km/h, so I dont get too many speeding tickets.

I carry about 400 litres of fresh water, and can have about 200 litres of grey water. I have a cassette toilet so that takes care of the black water. There is an instanteous hot water service running of gas that is great, and I have a full compressor fridge with freezer. It sleeps and seats five, and is an old bus converted.

It might give you some ideas, and I have been using it for about 12 years, but not so much these days.
