1989 Honda Goldwing GL1500/6

Postby robb » Tue Feb 25, 2014 3:50 pm

I thought four strokes had slowed me a little but this time may have a profound affect on my riding. We all know how things change and a wreck on ice 2-15-14 has left me with 4 broke ribs, a torn aortia to the heart, 12 stress cracks and a hand full of stitches. Doctors say no riding for at least 6 months and after that maybe never. Town & Country mini van was crumpled like a beer can under foot. Forty years the left arm was nearly destroyed, this time was a near repeat, they pulled a pound of glass from that arm. If I continue to ride it will be if I trike one of the bikes.

1989 Honda Goldwing GL1500/6 Aspencade with 75,939 miles. Price $5500
Recent oil change, Amsoil Synthetic
New Timing Belts, New BT45 rear tire on front, New 90 Amp Alternator, New Heated Grips.
Wineberry in color and lots of features, CB, reverse, air pump, stereo with water cover, matching helmets with 1 good system and 1 with bad connector, Travelcade Touring seat with gel, cornering lamps and driving lamps. Ready for the road, can ride this Wing anywhere. Fuel mileage 2-up about 40-44 mpg, but can't remember less than 38 mpg.

Thanks to all for your support.

Just as with the bike I'm prayed up before leaving home and trusting for a full recovery.

I wish you well Robb and I pray for your speedy recovery. An injury to your aorta is about as near to meeting your maker as you want to get.

Thanks. Doctor is baffled at recovery rate and said aortia is 4 months ahead of schedule for repair. Left shoulder impact injured rotor cuff to point they think replacement joints are needed. I do work it good about 4 hours every other day on skid steer, hand controls only. God has been good, Again.

Someone is coming from West Virginia this Saturday to look at my Vstar, if it sells the wing is off the table. I'm building an independent rear add-on that will allow for a 20 degree lean.
