Postby mikelens » Sat Dec 06, 2014 5:18 pm

J&M -# HC-E
J&M Replacement Single-Section 5-pin Cord 1988-2015 Hondaline Headsets

I found 2 of these cords in the trunk when I purchased my wing. I have no use for them. $30 each or both for $50/ $5.95 shipping. PM me.

I was wondering how many pins on the 90 degree end of the cord. I have a friend that is looking for a cord that has 6 pins on the 90 degree end and 5 on the other end.

J&M never made a cord as you describe 6 at the helmet and 5 at the bike.

Air Rider had a 6 to 5 but it had a condenser mic and had a 9 volt battery in the circuit for the bias voltage.

All I know is that it has Honda written in red on the side of the assembly and it requires a 90degree cord on the mic end that has 6 very small pins in it and the other end is a straight end that fits the bike with 5 pins. There is no battery in the headset.

Not trying to be argumentative but the cord for the Hondaline, made by J&M, headset with the red lettering is a 5 pin both end cord with an "E" on the tag. The only cord that replaces the "E" is the "D" which does not have the dust cover. The 2 piece version A and B cords are no longer available.

No argument here either... I just know that one of the pins broke off in the helmet and I was able to fish it out for him but one of the speakers does not work with that cord. I had the broken cord in my hand and it had 6 pins in it(including the broken one) on the headset end and only 5 on the other end. My friend went by the Honda shop and they were able to order him a new cord yesterday, so it is not needed any longer. He has two helmets with the headsets on them and was using his wife's cord which is identical and also has the 6 pins on the headset end. Just info for anyone else with this type of headset. I have J & M brand on my bike which has the 5 pins on both ends. Thanks for the posts. :D

PM sent but no reply. The "1 post" makes me skeptical.
