WTB rear brake GL1100

Postby Creekwalker » Thu Oct 22, 2015 9:23 pm

I am in need of the rear brake master cylinder for my 1983 GL1100. It is dribbling brake fluid down the plunger/adjuster rod. It needs to be the type that the brake line screws into instead of the banjo bolt type. Thanks

Have you pulled your master cylinder apart to make sure it's not in rebuildable condition? As long as the groove for the snap ring is not corroded and the bore is good you can rebuild them for @$25-$35 for a K&L kit.
The 83 rear master cylinder is a 1 year only.

Thanks for the reply. Unhappy to find out that it is one year only. I did rebuild with K L kit. Worked for a very short time. I didn't examine the bore closely. I figured my problem was the 118,000 mile the master was called on to stop the GL.
