WANTED - - VERY ODD ITEM

Postby FM-USA » Sat Dec 05, 2015 1:30 pm

Hope that got your attention.

ANYWAYS:
I'm in need of minimum 3 inch piece of musical high E string.
I think the size is 0.11 to 0.13, I'm not a musician.
Must be metal. Guitar or piano don't matter.
Prefer a broken one or left overs. Envelope mail.

YA-ya i asked the music shops around here but they all (claim to) toss trash every day.
THANKS

The 1st string "E" ranges in sizes from 0.0085 - 0. 15 for so.
You can probably get one from Amazon about as cheap as having someone mail it to you.
They start out at 83¢ for a single string.

You could also just ask one of the shops to save one for you instead of throwing it away.
Or go to a club with live music and ask one of the guitarists.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood!

Maybe I can get him to sign it?

I asked for one tossed to be saved they all said no. Odd, all did, must be a high request or didn't make any money and they quit.
Ya, I looked on Ebay and Google for ElCheapos.
All I'm trying to do is save my winter coat zipper pin from ripping out. Replacement zipper colors just don't match and tooth sizes are too small/large.
Picky? YA! If you knew how well this coat keeps me warm... hows 60 mph at -17*F with just a sweatshirt & the coat, quilted pants, thin ski bibbs, woolie sox, and summer joggers.
OK, ok... I talk too much. 2 nites in a row till 3-ish am is get'n to me.

YA-ya she says go on a diet. That's too easy. ;)

Might try a local pawn shop. I've bought complete set of guitar strings in a pinch and they cost me about $5.

Try 0.020 thousandth stainless steel safety wire. More flexible than piano, etc. and extremely tough. Added benifit is it won't rust like music wire. Hope this helps.

Someone sells 3 inches worth?
0.020 is getting large, the Zipper Pins width (from memory) about .070 - .080
I may have to use my heating element wire. Got some from .009 to .017 tho it won't be as strong.

Someone mentioned I should just replace it with a 2-way zipper. Never heard of it till I looked it up. THAT would solve my problem tho so far no color matches the coat.

Go to walmart and look in the fishing section, you will be looking for fishing leaders about 2 bucks for 4 of them and they will not rust. I got some and used them to keep my side covers on both my bikes, works like a charm.--------------------------------------Hal
