GL1500 HID kit

Postby Bobsiler » Sun Apr 03, 2016 6:52 pm

After some complaints from people I ride with I've decided to selk my HID kit I installed in Dec. Everthing works no problems, I even still have the original packaging. I have an extra set of bulbs I purchased a few weeks ago that go with it. The bulbs are $60 new (I paid $45 the price just changed) and the kit $150 new. I just want move these so $150 plus shipping from zip 95038 takes them both.

Mostly when I was riding behind someone after dark. To bright in their mirrors. I got flashed once or twice by oncoming traffic.
It was a complaint from a friend that made me decide to pull them. I do miss the extra light they put down the road.

Im not sure how far down the road the LED kits project. The HID'S on high beam really produced some light

It is interesting that this should pop up today. I just reinstalled my HID's in my 1998 GL1500 after trying the LED's. The Pathfinder LED's are a bit disappointing. The light output is okay I guess but just barely on par with the Halogen. And, the high beams shine into the trees rather than down the road. the placement of the LED's do not seem to be correct. The high beam diode is exactly opposite the low beam diode. It puts the light in the wrong place. The HID's produce much better light and it puts it where it is supposed to be.

I initially wanted to go LED because I missed having the extra safety of the modulator. So I installed a LED software coded Kisan modulator. The little unit caused so much static in the intercom that it was really useless. The other modulators I have used for the Halogen bulbs caused a little noise but nothing like I experienced with this one. The Kisan modulator I have in the GL1800 with the Pathfinder H7 LED's makes a little noise but is barley noticeable. Those H7 LED'
s by the way produce LOTS of light. They are 4800 Lumens. The GL1500 LED's were 2400 Lumens.
