ISO tank shelter

Postby Jsauceman » Thu Aug 25, 2016 7:30 pm

Good evening wing fans. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm looking for a faux tank/tank shelter for my aspencade project. Looking for something along the lines of this picture. Color doesn't matter just need it to be from and 83-85 Goldwing. I believe this one is off an interstate. Thanks everyone.

So you're looking for an 1100 shelter for an '86 Aspy? They're a lot different. What are you trying to do?

Not necessarily an 86. An 83 Aspencade shelter will work. I'm going for a bobber look pretty much. The picture is my inspiration

Gotcha. You're really needing a shelter from an '84 Standard for something like that but those are hard to come by. The GL1200 Interstate and Aspencade's shelters are different from the 1100's and the '84 Standard. They have flared out sides that blend into the fairing similar to the 1500's. Checking Ebay for 1100 shelters or Craigslist for a parts bike is going to be your best bet.

It doesn't need to be an '83 shelter. Any year, any model 1100 or the '84 standard will work for what OP is doing but thanks for the ebay search, Stuart!

no problem. those tank shelters are for the 80-83 1100's so any one of them should fit.
