GL1200 for Sale in Medford, Oregon

Postby wing rider 2012 » Thu Sep 22, 2016 12:29 pm

A guy down the street from has a GL1200 for sale, he is asking 800.00 for the bike. He said the last time it ran was 6 months ago. He has lost the key to the bike. The bike looks in good condition, everything is there, no missing parts. The paint is in reasonabily good condition and so is the seat.

Lets see, the key is not there so the ignition does not work! Neat way to cover up the fact something else does not work.

Since there is no key, there is no way to ride the bike, so basically it is a piece of junk. I would offer to take it off his hands with a clear title and him paying me $200 to haul it away!

I think a good locksmith might be able to make a key for less than 200 but that is just the beginning. It has not run in six months or so--is the fuel system gunked up from ethanol? There are so many things that could be wrong, perhaps the best deal would be to strip it down and part it out and use the profit to buy a running bike.

Harvey, correct, that is the same thing I told him. I told him that without the key, he is going to have a tough time selling the bike. I ask him if 800.00 is his firm price and he said yes, my response was, I post it on the forum but I doubt if anyone will be interested at that price.
