Would you be able to post a link, only thing I find leads to other items. So far the $99 might be the least expensive. But I need one as pristine as possible, found a final drive with 28k miles. The nibs on it look brand new, so I'd like to find one that would be similar. Thanks

Well that's why I didn't find that. 84-85 drive flange won't fit 86-87 wheel. The 86-89 drive flange will work. Still haven't found. Still looking.....

By the way thanks for the lead any way, I've been asking whoever has parts if they have the part, they might not, but may know of one or another source

What is the issue with yours?

BTW:
Do a search on Ebay for, REAR WHEEL. Sometimes they come with the hub.

Well this is what's wrong...
worn out final drive
worn out final drive

half worn out drive flange
half worn out drive flange

A few weeks ago I went to an indy that I met and he helped me change tires, this has been done by Honda Dealerships before. So what do I see a rusty, dry, worn out final drive and wheel flange. Looks like the instructions given by me to lube the splines also, was ignored! Just one more reason I'll never darken a Honda dealership doorway.

I've already gotten a final drive that looks brand new. Now I need to find the flange. The part number given in first post fits 1986 through 1989 Goldwing rear wheels. 1984 & 1985 part will not fit the 1986 wheel

I've been looking for rear wheels (86-89) thinking that it might still be attached, I haven't seen one attached yet. I'm still looking............

E-YOW!!!+!
Seeing those splines (or lack of) makes one wonder if it's possible to force that last dealership to replace those parts. Granted they were not the only ones who didn't perform the requested maintenance but they were the last to INFORM you of the problem, hence their customer relationship neglect.
It's things like this that makes one wonder, should a vehicle maintenance work order[s] be a "Contract"?
Sure parts fail but not prematurely from lack of proper maintenance.

I've lightly scoured the Net for your parts, I'm sure we're looking in the same places.

One thing I learned a long time ago, always look in the off season for more stock and lower cost. I have a fairly good stock anticipated parts for my 1500, current total just under $400. If I had a rear gear and a frame I could build a "naked" Wing.

WISH YOU LUCK! ;)

BTW: I've heard of 1200 & 1500 parts being interchangeable or complete replacements... any chance on yours?
(Eg: 1996 1500 rear gear swing arm and wheel fit the 1200)

SOMETIMES seeing a pix in a different way hits home how maintenance is necessary by seeing how much material is missing.

If (big if) I were to ever step in the dealer that did this, I'd be arrested because someone would be getting hurt. Back when I had a bunch of work done (haha) my wife talked me out of going back and getting into it with the dealer. Needless to say I was furious. Found out over time that the oil & filter hadn't been changed (I had provided both); they stated the AGM battery died and they replaced with a wet cell (no notification, they probably just stole my battery); they replaced the tires I provided (didn't balance them as asked); supposedly rebuilt carbs (they started leaking again 8 months later) when I had an indy do it he showed where they had used some kind of sealant on the gaskets. The sealant disintegrated and floated into all of the inner workings of the carbs. My action has been to report them to BBB, post anywhere I can about how poor their service is and why. I know it makes no real difference but I will NEVER do business with Fort Worth Motorsports, for any reason. The other close dealership refuses to work on the bike (too old) and they carry no parts, so I don't go there. If I want to go about 20 miles into Dallas traffic there's a dealer that at least states they would work on it, maybe. I just use indies I know if I can't do something myself, like breaking the tires down and rebalancing. It's been 4 years since the indy rebuilt the carbs, no issues, if it were to need it again I'd take it back. Most anything I can do and will do from now on. Honda has turned me into an HD rider, not due to their products, but due to their dealers! Rant over sorry

Yes I've been looking for 88 & 89 wheel assy and or the drive flange. I've sent out about 25 requests to ebay posters, salvage yards or any other place someone refers me to. One had responded that he's seen a lot of requests for these in the last year. I believe it's due to dealers not properly lubing these assemblies. The final drive I purchased was an '86 model that the seller stated had 28k miles, there was no moly lube on that unit, I didn't even see traces of it. Someone had cleaned all old lube out at sometime and replaced with what looks like axle grease. I'll be lubing it with moly paste, as service manual states.

I'm still looking.......

Yes, and since it's delivery to me 30 years and 64k miles, I've all ways relied on dealers to lube those splines on every tire change (about 10k miles or 6 years, whichever came first)!

Yea, when I cleaned it up to see if it could be used, I realised half the spline is gone. Final Drive had about half of what you see on the flange, I don't think you could've gone 1000 miles on what was left. Just need to find a descent flange.............

I learned from dad, whenever you take a vehicle in for service request to put all replaced parts in the trunk.
It was to be written at the top of the work order so not to be missed. I had a cardboard box lined with plastic for said replaced parts.
Was the only way, except standing there, that the parts are replaced.
MAN!!! Where's the trust these days? That's the main reason customers give me a key to their house. ;)

This is my fourth reply. My first, second, and third started out stating the obvious about what a good dealership would/should do.
But that's not necessary on a site like this one. So, I'm glad you found your parts.
