1982 GL1100I STARTER GEAR TRAIN

Postby rogertee » Fri Sep 24, 2010 3:35 am

I neither need nor want the whole starter motor. All I need is the planetary gear system, particularly the 2 planet gears. It must be in good or better condition. It's hard owning an older wing in New Zealand. Parts are very hard to come by.
Can anyone help? I am prepared to pay a fair price and shipping. I use paypal.

From New Zealand (to be sure..to be sure!!)
Those gears you have should fit straight in. The starters were all the same until the 1200.
I'll take a punt. can you send me a photo of them? If they look half decent I'll take 'em.....
as long as the price is reasonable and the freight the same. Keep in touch...and thanks.

I hope these attachments work. I am having trouble figuring out this program. If they do not come through email me direct at:

6point8spc@gmail.com

If the attachments do work I apologize for the size of them. I I can do close ups if you want.

looking good. I only have a wooden ruler at home. My vernier is at work so I'll take the wrecked ones in tomorrow (It's 6.33PM here) and I'll have a measure but it would appear they are identical. incidently, what's the internal diameter?
thanks for such a quick and accurate response

Cheers

Hi Stephen,
Have measured the gears and they are identical. So you have a buyer.
Let me know your price and the cost of shipping and how you want to be paid and if it's all fair we'll start the process.
Have a good day,
Roger

UPS was $8.00 to $10.00 and will take about 2 weeks. For $22.00 6 to 10 days. That would be US dollars by the way. Fed-X was out of line on shipping $35.00 + dollars. But that is your choice. My cost for the parts would be that you pass on the favor to somebody else.

Hi Stephen,
The cheapest option is ok by me. Not because of the amount but merely because I am in no hurry. My question is now how do I get those funds to you? I would feel better if I paid the postage before you send the item. The price you ask for the parts will certainly be paid at some stage down the track, thankyou.
I have said this before and i am telling you as well, I have had numerous dealings with your fellow countrymen over the years and I have, without exception found you all to be helpful, obliging, fair and a pleasure to do business with.

Cheers,
Roger

It's supposedly spring here but we have had nothing but rain for weeks. I have got the other bike out and ridden it twice but like you I don't ride in the rain, can't see the point.
My address is as follows
R.Tidman
347 Waitohu Valley Road,
R.D.3,
Otaki 5583,
New zealand
and thank you again for your assistance, I will let you know how I get on.
Cheers,
Roger

Mailed it out today, 09/30/2010 via USPS for $4.51 USD. They said that you should see it within 2 weeks.

Stephen.

UPS was $81.00
