'83 Turn signal flasher needed

Postby dvcruz » Wed Dec 01, 2010 10:16 pm

Looking for a flasher for an '83. Apparently this is another part that is kinda unique to the '83 Interstate model. It has 3 contacts, or prongs, that are in a row (not offset like most flashers you see) and the prongs are only about half as wide as other flashers. Hope that made sense.
Please let me know if you have one. Postage would be to 95124.
Thanks.

I'd be tempted to just cut off the connector and splice in a standard one, so that normal automotive flashers can be used.

I agree with WingAdmin, just went out the the shop and looked at the one off of my project bike and your right, three in a row. Going to chop that one off. Eventually going to LEDs so the flasher will have to be solid state.

Thanks all. I replaced it with one from an auto store. Just FYI for anyone else doing this. The Cylmer manual shows a different colored set of wires than are actually on the bike, but it's pretty easy to figure out.
My signals work fine now.

The Clymer manual has a lot of small errors like that - really, when it comes to these bikes, the original Honda service manual is the way to go.
