Shifting Issue

HI Guys I have an 83 gl1100 Interstate. My question is When I shift gears mostly from first to second but also the other gears there is a noisy gear grinding noise and shake or rattle of the shifter.It always goes into gear. Any Ideas on what might cause this and what I need to do to solve it. Thanks Craig

Might have to adjust the clutch.... Looks like the issue is somewhere around there.

Sorry it took so long to reply. /To adjust the clutch on the 83 gl1100 does it have the lock nut and screw or is it only with the cables. Thanks

That's a good question i have never done it to mine, maybe someone else can answer that for you. ..

I will actually be waiting for that answer as well...
