Low Fuel Light
I recently replaced the fuel petcock diaphragm which stopped the puddle of gas from forming in the overflow tray. Since then the last two times I have filled up the low fuel light has failed to come on. Both times I have put in over 5.6 gallons. My light usually came on with one gallon left in the tank. I have no problem troubleshooting electrical but my present computer refuses to load Honda's CD Service Manual because of the "incompatible" operating system, so I don't have access to the electrical wiring diagrams. Anybody have one I can view for reference or suggest an excellent alternative? Thanks.

Re: Low Fuel Light
These should help. They are from a '94 manual, but I doubt there were any changes for a '99.
From what I hear, that thermistor sensor in the tank is a weak point. I would test it, and the circuitry to the dash as described, first.
You should be able to test the thermistor from outside the tank just reading resistance (ohms).
The dash circuitry can be tested at the same location as described.

Re: Low Fuel Light
Thank you. The light comes on when I first turn the key on, so I know the bulb is good. Your diagrams will help a lot.

Re: Low Fuel Light
The thermistor in the fuel tank that operates the low fuel light is a common failure item.
You might want to try what virgilmobile and I both did, replace this with a new-improved, never-fails item:
