Re: Stolen Gold Wing
Sorry to hear of your misfortune! Sort of unusual to steal an older Gold wing or any Wing for that matter.
They must have used a trailer or something to carry the stuff away, seems like someone (neighbor) would have seen or heard something! I just hope they have not sold the bike to a chop shop, but I can't imagine what else they would do with it. Other than try to ride it and maybe wreck! But it would be very stupid to ride it. Someone would see that.
Does the PD have any info about more bike thefts in the area to include surrounding area.
It would be unusual but maybe some one has figured out the problem getting parts for theses older bikes and is now running a theft ring to steal them, strip them and sell the parts! Heck you could sell a lot of the parts on Ebay without arousing suspicion.

Re: Stolen Gold Wing
I forgot to mention that the bike has the radiator fan and both timing covers missing. I have those parts because I was doing the alternator conversion I am thinking it may be sold for parts. Who ever stole them had to have a truck and trailer both won't fit in a truck bed. Police don't believe they made two trips. There were signs that someone had been around the house with in the last week so I think they were the ones and knew just what was there to steal They did leave a push lawn mower. Probably ran out of room or time.

Odd feeling... Ask around if anyone ever considered doing an ATV with a Wing motor or a Wing go-cart, might get a lead.

Re: Stolen Gold Wing
Just wanted to let everyone know that the SC Sheriffs Dept found my Goldwing and lawn mower. Arrested one guy for possession of stolen property. mower was painted and he was using it to mow his place. The Goldwing was stripped pretty bad. It is a parts bike now. Will use some of the parts on my barn find Goldwing.
Re: Stolen Gold Wing
STRIPPED = OUCH and good they found it. Case closed.
Wonder if anyone here "unwittingly" bought your bikes parts?

Don't think so I bet they are laying around somewhere. I monitored Craig's list and e-bay never saw anything. Only one guy arrested had to be more than one in on the break in. Who ever else was in on it probably has the parts.
