Spring!!
The temperature has been getting warmer and warmer...the snow is long gone. I've been starting to see some motorcycles on the road. I'm waiting for the piles of salt on the roads to disappear before pulling mine out. But then, I wake up this morning to....this. Happy Spring, everybody!

We be having a few warm days here. But the cold ones come back, I can handel the cold but the cold and wet is out for me. It rains one, cold one, the rain in cold for a few days. But got both of them ready to go.

Re: Spring!!
I hate March. So close to riding weather, but so far. I saw on my weather app that we hit 82 on this day six years ago. Oh but to have that again. But the record low was 17 and we're closer to that. I know it's coming, but not soon enough.

Re: Spring!!
To add insult to injury, as I was shoveling wet, heavy snow on the first day of Spring, I received pictures on my phone from my wife sitting by the pool in sunny Key West, Florida, where it is 82 degrees.

Same thing happened to me.A phone call from warm New Orleans during a blizzard at home.
I left the snow shovel in the driveway when I moved.

Re: Spring!!
Sent a picture, to my brother in Utah, of me standing by our lawn mower, my wife in her gardening gloves with a shovel in one hand and a pretty flower in the other. No statement, no digs at him about the major snowstorm that was hitting Salt Lake, just a picture of us doing yard work.
He sent back a picture of him sitting in front of a fire, feet up in his recliner, cat in his lap, book at his side and hot beverage in his hand.
I wished more than ever that my mom had listened to me when I told her I'd rather have a pony than a little brother.

Re: Spring!!
If it snowed like that here we would have the army out. Every school would be closed (even if it didn't actually snow where the school is) and all the alternative snowflakes would be saying that the cold weather is all to do with global warming - never did work that one out.
It has been a long old winter.

Re: Spring!!
It is actually lovely here today, temp 50F, though it feels much warmer in the sun. The daffodils and crocuses are out, and so is my other motorbike. We have had heavy rain for a couple of weeks so the salt is all gone. I will give it another month though before I dust down the Goldwing.

Re: Spring!!
Canada may have issues with winter but we have learned that pointing our vehicles South and loading our bikes on attached trailers and leaving in October for AZ has solved most issues involving snow. We return when they Hwys dept takes the front plows off their trucks

This was Saturday afternoon. Washed the bike in anticipation of going for a nice long ride on Sunday:
No ride for me.

Sunday morning I woke up to this:
And it kept coming down all morning. Had about 4" by the time it was done.No ride for me.

Re: Spring!!
Mid 50s today and cloudy. Humidity is high and a brisk wind. I went out for a short ride and wasn't particularly comfortable. But what the heck, better than last week.

Re: Spring!!
Normally we wouldn't have a problem riding in the cold, but I've recently been diagnosed with a mild case of emphysema and my doctor has advised me to limit my exposure to cold air to help protect my lungs, so I guess I'm now a fair-weather rider!
Had to pass on two PGR missions last week because of that...

You are at least, in the right place to avoid cold air. But isn't old Jack Frost clinging on tenaciously to winter's tail coat this year.my doctor has advised me to limit my exposure to cold air

Well here it's finally, finally started to warm up. Though nothing to get too excited about.

Re: Spring!!
It was 29F here this morning, but at least it was dry enough to take the bike to work anyway. Supposed to hit a high in the 70s by the end of the week though. Getting kind of tired of this yo-yo weather.
