Charlie Horse on A Bike?

I rode the bike yesterday for about 8 hours. Had a fantastic time. I went to beed and at about 3:00am I woke up screaming at the top of my lungs because I had a charlie horse in the calf. Ya know, the kind that feel like if the muscle doesn't stop, it's going to snap a leg bone? lol. Anyway it got me to thinking. WOW if I were to get a charlie horse while on the bike I would most likely be able to stop the bike but not so sure If I'd be able to pull over and then keep from dumping it on it's side. The question insterested me so I thought I would ask you fine folks here if you had ever gotten a charlie horse while on the bike and did you dump the bike because of it?

I've had a few here and there since early 80's. Back then I was riding across the country getting from one duty station to the next when I was only 18y riding that GS1100E. I've never had a one on a short ride, so I just rode it out. Stand up a bit and just stretch it out while riding.

Never dumped one because of a charlie horse or muscle cramp.

I've not had that experience.

I'd try very hard to stop and land on the other leg so that the bike stayed upright. I do work on stopping using one leg or another just in case it's ever required.

I just stand up straight, or now with my Mick-O-Pegs, I just stand on those and straighten out completely leaning against the backrest....

you need to take some Potassium pills before you ride.

Or...go eat a big helping of fries. Lots of potassium (potato) and electrolytes (salt - although not the best electrolyte).

Last Wednesday I stuffed some Potassium into my belly

bunch of us met at Granny's Kitchen in Huntsville, AR
she throws out a mean feed.... I got the thin long stringy fries, really were tasty and smooth going down.
