I am doing a caliper rebuild on an 82 GL1100I. Completed the rebuild of the right front caliper and was replacing the boot on the mounting bracket, where the pivot pin goes, and this piece fell to the floor - I didn't see where it came from. I removed the left front caliper assembly and I don't see anything similar. The exploded diagram in the Honda factory manual shows something that looks like the piece but is non-specific as to where it goes.
If you know what it is and where it goes, please let me know.

It goes on the little ledge on the front (top) of the bracket, The slot goes down over the rotor, the ends of the brake pads sit against it.
