2 bad motors.

Post by Superflags » Tue May 08, 2018 11:22 pm

I have 2 GL1100 motors. One is an 81 1100 interstate and the other is an83 1100 aspencade. They both have problems. My main question is can the transmission from the 83 1100 Aspencade be put into the 81 1100 interstate engine block? Just curious.

Yes it can. I did just that to one myself. You also have to change the final output gear, the one that the output shaft goes into.

Thank you very much. I guess now it's just a matter of taking the motor off, taking it apart and finding out if there is any internal damage from the right rear piston hitting what I'm guessing was the crank shaft after the piston rod got bent or compressed. Thanks again. Sandy.
