Re: Fully Synthetic Oil??? • Posted in GL1500 Information & Questions by Tim 1956 |
I've used castrol 20w50 in all my vehicles and motorcycles for 46+ years and never had any problems. . Even in my 94 goldwing 1500 with 22,450 and my 99 toyota sienna van 223,000 miles. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

Thanks to everyone for their helpful advice. Like anything I’ve not done before, taking the forks off and putting them back on is not so difficult after knowing how. |

What about my compression reading for cylinder 3 ? My manual says 142 minimum. Anyone have any comment on that ? Will it run okay with that reading ? |

I became a big believer in synthetic oils in the 80s when Amsoil sponsored our Pro stock car. They provided us a bunch of specialty oils for all kinds of stuff. There were two I remember most. The first was a full synthetic air compressor oil. |

I will check with the guy who rebuilt my carbs. Thanks for your input. I would rather have a carb problem than ring problem lol. |
Re: Passenger Arm Rests - Question/Suggestion • Posted in GL1500 Information & Questions by Rambozo |
There are different bracket options, with and without extensions, depending on brand. Some require they both be swung out to open the trunk, while others don't. That could be an issue depending on how you ride. |

Have been using Castrol 4-T for my bikes. Expensive, roughly 70 $/ gallon, but workes perfect!! I've used castrol 20w50 in all my vehicles and motorcycles for 46+ years and never had any problems. I'm afraid to try synthetic oils. |
