Thanks WingAdmin. I was able to find a side cover just after I posted this it's even the right color. The grommets are new I bought them last winter but I'm definitely going to get me some keeper products, I have been thinking of a way to prevent this from happening again. Can anyone help me with this side cover problem. I have a 1986 goldwing SEI aspencade 1200. The other day my right side cover come off while riding I didnt notice it gone until I got home. Can anyone tell me what side covers are interchangeable with the 1986 SeI 1200. TIA

Rednaxs60 could you tell me were you got that Beck Arnley fuel filter. I have never heard of that brand. Do you think napa auto parts would have it.

Gervais you just lost me, is the regulator inside the alternator? I thought un plugging the 3 yellow wires to the stator and removing the (regulator rectifier) was the procedure. I will post a pitcher of my regulator rectifier if I can.

I have now replaced my 2 and a half inch crank pulley with a 4 inch pulley si now on the freeway about 80 mph my volt gauge is at 13.4 and at a idle I'm at 11.6. I dont get it I'm hooked up like everyone else but not charging at a idle. Can anyone help me with this.

That's another thing that has me baffled I have a 2 inch pulley and 2 1/2 on the alternator that 2 inch pulley should be turning that alternator much faster than a 3 or 4 inch pulley. For now I have that external voltage wire connected to my positive battery post

Rednaxs60 this is my alternator it's a Chevy mini 70 amp you see the main positive on the top the yellow is hooked into the ignition and the green wire I just read to hook it to the positive battery post, I'm getting about 11.3 volts at a idle

Thanks for all that good info deffinatly going to help me, I already have a alternator comming I bought on Ebay it goes to a geo metro 1995 the pulley on it is for the flat ribbed belt, havnt really decided what belts the best I have read good and bad about both but probably go with the flat ribbed ...
