Sena 50R vs Packtalk Bold
Does anyone have any experience with the new Sena 50 series? I currently have a Cardo Packtalk Bold JBL installed on my headset but the volume level is lacking at freeway speed. I've heard rumors that the new Sena 50 series is higher volume than previous series. Any experience/reviews out there? God...

Heat Proof Grip Glue
One of the first things I did after I got my 99 Aspencade last year was to put on the Oxford heated grips. I used the grip glue that came with those grips but every time I turn the heat up to its maximum setting, the throttle comes loose. I tried adding a drop or two of super glue, but that didn't m...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
Sorry for the late reply... things have been.... chaotic. I was able to finally re-rebuild the caliper and the seals held this time. I bled the system a few times, including using a new pneumatic bleeder kit. This did make a marked difference in the braking power. It's still not what I would conside...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
It's going to come down to having to push the pistons out, drain the system, pull it off the bike and basically re-do all of the work I just did to "rebuild" it in the first place. My intention was to make it work better and instead it's not working at all. I only used brake fluid to coat ...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
Happy New Year! I bought an air compressor bleeding kit and that worked to get the system depressurized. That's the good news. The bad news is that after pressurizing it, I discovered that one of the new seals I just put into my rebuilt caliper is leaking. My only options (that I can see) right now ...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
Well, I got the caliper back together and mounted.... but now I'm back to the pressurization problem I had a week ago. When I swapped out the braided line, I sucked on a hose attached to the speed bleeder, alternatively sucking, closing, breathing, opening, sucking, closing, etc until there was flui...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
Hallelujah! Your advice worked... my dad's compressor got the pistons out without too much difficulty. One of them was really tough to get out. I've given them a good bath in brake cleaner but there's still some stuff on the outside of the pistons. What's the best way to clean the junk off the pisto...

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
I'm visiting my parents for Christmas before I'll get a chance to work on it by hand again.
My dad has a Craftsman compressor, but it's designed for tires. How would I hook it up to the caliper to push out the pistons, especially if they're stuck?

Re: EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
I'm working on the RIGHT-FRONT. So it's by itself... not linked. And I have tire air compressors, nothing with enough PSI to push out stuck pistons.

EMERGENCY BRAKE PROBLEM
I decided during the week I have off for Christmas, to finally rebuild the calipers on my 1999 GL1500 Aspy. I bought a rebuild kit for both front calipers and I was also hoping to swap out the rubber hose on the front-left with a new braided steel line. (I've already replaced the right-front hose) I...

Re: Installing 4 Inch Replacement Front Speakers
Does anyone have an updated part reference for the Kenwood speakers? I have my bike/dash apart and figured I might as well replace the front speakers while I'm at it since the OEM's aren't sounding that awesome lately. (not that they ever did) I know the Polk DB501's are recommended and I have the 4...

Re: Leg options for keeping warm in cold weather?
The reason I mentioned chaps in the beginning is because I'm looking for something that will just block the wind from getting through and something that I can simply strap on over my existing pants. If I have to put it on under them, it's too much, if I have to put it on over them (and also my boots...

Leg options for keeping warm in cold weather?
I'm a native born Southern Californian, so cold is relative to us. But the morning commute is dipping into the low 50's and my normal dress wear for my job is to wear black or blue slacks which are perfect and comfortable, but also very thin and don't protect against cold wind at all. Any ideas for ...

Thank you for the suggestion!
I've contacted Jay and not only does he have a set, he's willing to trade me for my white gauges... (must be something wrong with him)

12x18 is way bigger than the 5x9 flag I have on there now that came with the mount. Will a 12x18 flag fit on the anntena mount from Show Chrome?

Re: Replacement MPH/RPM Gauge Faces for '99 Aspencade
Is there a good location where I can get just the black faces for the gauges on the 2000 wing? All the places I've looked so far only sell the entire instrument panel and it's expensive. I only need the faces themselves.

Re: Headlight height wrong???
I checked all the connections when I installed it and it all seemed fine and without any blocking.
Is there a chart/diagram that I can use to see where mine is? i.e. if you're at max height, then at x distance from a wall, the beam should be at x height.

Re: Poor braking on '99 Aspencade
It sounds like you've done everything I would recommend - braided steel brake lines, fresh fluid, air bleeding, tying down brake levers overnight. I can easily lock up both my front and rear wheel at speed using my brakes, so the brakes are definitely strong enough for the bike. The only other thin...

Poor braking on '99 Aspencade
I know I've brought this up before but this is something I just can't get comfortable with. The brakes on my '99 Aspy are just not what I feel they should be. I have to put the pedal all the way down just to get any stopping power at all and it's nowhere near good. I know wings are heavy bikes and I...

Headlight height wrong???
I don't remember what the original non-LED bulbs were like, but the replacement LED headlights on my 99 Aspy seem to be really low even when I've got the knob turned all the way up. I've double-triple checked to make sure the mechanism is fitted properly and it is. Are they just built to be normally...

Replacement MPH/RPM Gauge Faces for '99 Aspencade
I would like to replace the white gauges on my 99 Aspencade. Anytime around dawn or dusk they become literally unreadable. I'm presuming that if I can find the black gauge faces themselves, I should be able to just swap them out and be good to go. I'll probably swap all my internal bulbs for LED's a...

Replacement Flag
I was wondering if anyone knew what/where I could get a replacement American flag for my flag pole. I have the antenna mounted flag pole and flag from Show Chrome that I got from CycleMax but the flag has frayed in the top-right corner. I'd like to get a flag that will hold up to the flapping withou...
