Re: broken center stand

i havent had a chance yet to cut the tube off and see the condition of the rest of the frame. if it is still in good shape, i intend on having a piece welded in to place to weld the center stand onto.

Re: GL 1100 Sound System question

The good thing is I've already had the radio and speakers as well as being hooked up to the amplifier to powered speakers. I have to admit I really like the sound of it, although there is a bunch of bass but five and a quarter inch speakers so what did you expect.

Re: GL 1100 Sound System question

The speaker's I used are the Polk db401 I believe. Don't quote me on that as I am not around the house to look. They are rated for marine quality, which is why I went with those.

Re: GL 1100 Sound System question

take a look at the wiring harness inside of the fairing there should be a red switched power supply so that it only comes on when the key is turned to accessory or on. I had to do a little bit of my modification to that enclosure but I was able to put five and a quarter speakers in there as opposed ...

Need both right and left side covers for my 1982 GL 1100.
Chrome has to be in nice shape, no major scratches.
Luca
i have a set, most of the rust on the chrome will come off easy as far as i can tell. i will try to remember to get pictures shortly.

broken center stand

as i was putting my wing up on the center stand for the night, it laid over to the right as i pulled it onto the center stand. i was dragged over onto the bike as i have always kept a strong grip on the grab bar being careful not to let it slam onto the stand. this in turn, twisted my wrist. enough ...

pictures are always welcome. if the cycle sound console is like mine, it will bolt onto the fairing in front of the handlebars.

Pretty damned expensive. If it's going to cost that much I think I'll just stick with what I've got.

Final drive swap

I have a question. What final drive can I out on my 1980 wing that will allow me to ride at the same speed with a lower engine rpm? It seems that I ran across this info, but cannot find it anywhere. It seems like it was from a cb750, but I'm not sure. TIA

Flickering leds

I recently installed all LEDs except for the Gage light bulbs. I ran into a little issue where when the engine is running the headlight and the flashers have a flicker to them when I turn them on. When I do not have the engine running none of the lights flicker. it's a pretty fast flicker and hasn't...

Re: 1980 turn signal buzzer

I had originally thought that it might have been the LED flasher as well, so I pulled it and put the old mechanical and back on. The buzzing was still there so like you said I just unhooked it. maybe if I come across a fix in the future I'll fix it but for now, I'm buzzer free.

I ended up buying three different types of Harley pipes for really cheap so I'm going to play around with those on my extra motor to see which one I prefer.
